Victim Services

Victim Services

The Sheriff's Office employs two Victim Advocates that are available to provide on-scene crisis counseling and follow up services to victims of crime. The Victim Advocates also advocate for victims' rights during the criminal justice process, accompany victims to court, provide assistance with injunctions, and offer referrals to community resources.  They are also available to assist with Victim Compensation through the Florida Attorney General's Office.  Advocates will also provide information and referrals to families coping with the loss of a loved one due to suicide, assist with mental health resources, homeless resources, and assist to families caring for a loved one with dementia/Alzheimer's.
