BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Under the general supervision of the Information Technology Director, possesses the required skills and knowledge to troubleshoot and repair computer workstations and peripherals; including hardware, software, and network cabling in accordance with standard IT practices and techniques

DUTIES:
A. Troubleshoot/maintain computer workstations and systems
B. Diagnose data communications and network issues and problems
C. Assist users and determine technology needs
D. Maintain workstation peripherals
E. Identify areas needing technology upgrades
F. Train members on technology equipment and operation
G. Adapt/modify existing software
H. Repair equipment
I. Provide onsite and remote support
J.Communicate assignment updates
K. Provide on call support as needed
L.Record support activities as required
M. Abide by the "Law Enforcement Code of Ethics".
N. Perform any additional duties that may be required by the Sheriff or through the necessity of situations.

JOB PREREQISITES:
High school diploma or GED.Valid Florida Driver's License.
Minimum two (2) years experience hands-on operations and repair of various computers and peripherals.
Additional related certifications preferred.
Ability to follow instructions and organize own work.
Ability to understand and follow English language instructions, both verbal and written.
Ability to use general office machines such as copy machines and computers.
Ability to work harmoniously with the public and agency personnel.
Possess normal sight and hearing, and physical agility required for standing, walking, and climbing stairs.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend/on-call work. Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
